BFI Discovery Launched

Panther Online was proud to work with the BFI to host what is believed to be the world’s earliest known, surviving inter-racial television kiss from You in Your Small Corner.

First broadcast on ITV in June 1962, the clip had not seen on TV since. The discovery was made in the BFI’s National Archive while researching a panel discussion at BFI Southbank on Race and Romance on Television as part of the BFI’s LOVE season.

The clip was launched at midnight on Panther Online and orders overnight came from major outlets, including BBC Breakfast, The Daily Mail, ITV Good Morning Britain, The Today Programme, STV News and The Times. The clip was courtesy of BFI/Granada/ITV Studios and you can read more about the BFI’s Love Festival here.
