our news DMS’ creativity shines at the CLIO Entertainment Awards 2024

5 CAMPAIGNS RECOGNISED IN THE PERFORMING ARTS CATEGORY

The Clio Entertainment Awards 2024, held on Thursday, November 14, marked a major milestone for us as an award-winning agency. Working in collaboration with our esteemed sister agencies, AKA London and AKA New York, an amazing 5 campaigns were honoured in the Performing Arts category. This achievement is a testament to the creative excellence of our Creative, Motion Graphics, Edit and Production teams, who helped bring these projects to life.

Our broader AKA Group also celebrated victories across multiple categories, for titles such as & Juliet, Cabaret, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Illinoise, Romeo + Juliet, and Hell’s Kitchen. These accolades showcase the strategic brilliance, collective talent, and unstoppable creativity driving the entire agency group.

Here’s a closer look at the campaigns we contributed to, which received Silver, Bronze, and Shortlist acclaim at this year’s awards:

GYPSY: INTEGRATED CAMPAIGN
‘The Announcement Campaign That Gave Audiences A Tease’

We earned a Silver Award for this stunning campaign that combined striking visuals and a smart strategy to capture the timeless essence of Gypsy. Initially tasked with VFX work—including rotoscoping, compositing, keying, and environment building—we impressed AKA NY, leading to an expanded role that included beauty work, touch-ups, preliminary colour grading, and contributions to their DOOH campaign.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK: AUDIO VISUAL CAMPAIGN
‘TVC: Creating NYC Nostalgia For Broadway’

This Silver Award winning campaign brought the vibrant energy of the city that never sleeps to life. From bespoke artwork, to blending complex 3D and 2D VFX, stunning sound design, and inventive production design, every element was crafted before rehearsals, set construction, or costume builds began.
Working closely in collaboration with AKA NY’s Directors and Producers, our Creative team helped design the iconic neon sign which is slowly revealed throughout the trailer. Using advanced 3D modelling, lighting, and compositing, we created a hyper-realistic animated sign that seamlessly integrated into the live-action footage, capturing the heart of the musical and setting a new benchmark for Broadway content.

WATER FOR ELEPHANTS: KEY ART CAMPAIGN
‘Motion Key Art: ‘A Leap of Faith’

Another Silver Award recognized our work on this campaign, which showcased the beauty and drama of Water for Elephants. Our Motion Graphics team brought the key art to life with stunning 3D animations, including a realistic train featured in the trailer. This campaign left a lasting impression, earning deserved recognition for its craftsmanship and creativity.

STRANGER THINGS: THE FIRST SHADOW: INTEGRATED CAMPAIGN
‘Before The World Turned Upside Down’

Together with our AKA Group, we won Bronze for the comprehensive campaign supporting Stranger Things: The First Shadow. From strategy to content creation, we played a key role in building excitement ahead of the show’s opening. Our work included dynamic DOOH campaigns, teaser social content, cast interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and high-end animations. We also crafted bespoke promotional content, such as radio ads, VODs, and online commercials, delivering a cohesive campaign that captured the magic of this ground-breaking production.

MEAN GIRLS: INTEGRATED CAMPAIGN
‘On Wednesdays, London Wears Pink’

Shortlisted in the highly competitive Integrated Campaign category, the campaign for this Broadway phenomenon featured bold, dynamic creative that really turned heads. Highlights included playful animated DOOH artwork for the “Lizzie” line, a striking ribbon at Waterloo Station, and celebratory announcements for Mean Girls Day (October 3rd). Produced alongside AKA London, the campaign showcased our Motion Graphics team’s talent and ability to deliver on-brand, engaging marketing that thrilled fans old and new.

Director of Creative Development at DMS, Alba Moyano, said; The Clio Awards celebrate campaigns that push boundaries and connect with audiences in meaningful ways, so it’s incredibly rewarding to see so much of our work recognised in various categories. These results are a testament to the talent, passion, and care of our Creative Services team at DMS, as well as the strategic brilliance and vision right across our agency Group. It’s a privilege to collaborate with such innovative minds who consistently bring bold ideas to life so beautifully.

This year’s Clio recognition reflects not only the artistry and innovation of our Creative Services team but also the collaborative spirit that drives the AKA Group. From crafting bold visuals to developing cohesive campaigns, our work continues to redefine expectations in the world of entertainment marketing. We’re excited to build on this momentum and keep delivering award-worthy campaigns that inspire audiences worldwide.
