DMS launches new talent academy

DMS launches new talent academy to prepare graduates for life in the ever-changing digital media industry

Year-long programme provides hands-on experience of working alongside leading entertainment brands to create, manage, localise, distribute and place content

London, 3rd July 2017 – Leading digital media agency, DMS, has today announced the launch of a new 12-month training programme designed to introduce the next generation of talent to the fast-paced nature of today’s digital media industry. The DMS Academy will provide on the job training and real-world client contact to graduates, enabling trainees to develop the toolsets required to build a successful career.

Having recently moved to a new 8000sq. ft purpose-built site near London Bridge – nearly double the size of its previous facility – DMS is now focussing heavily on recruitment as it continues to expand its global business. The DMS Academy covers job roles across DMS’ creative and digital services, media intelligence and insight, and production and studio services departments that serve Hollywood studios, major music labels, entertainment PR agencies, independent film distributors, retail brands and high-profile sports organisations.

“The fast-paced nature of the digital media industry and growing demand for a wider execution of content means that today’s operators need to be able to multi-task and work well under pressure. This generation of graduates is much more in tune with fast consumption of high volumes of content,” said Simon Briggs, managing director of DMS. “Coming into this environment straight out of university can be a daunting prospect, so we have structured the Academy programme so that trainees get all the hands-on training and support they need, as they start out on what should be a very fulfilling career.”

Neil Bottrill, digital operations director at DMS added: “There’s been a big shift in digital strategies recently, with clients needing more content, but anticipating that it will have a shorter shelf life. Because of this, speed is of the essence, so the production process has become more involved and the turnaround time is now much quicker. It’s something that all media professionals are having to adapt to, but with our extensive experience of dealing with high volume for big brands, we’re well placed to help the next generation of talent flourish.”
