Renée Zellweger wins ‘Best Actress’ Oscar for Judy

Last night, Renée Zellweger finished off her award-winning streak by picking up a thoroughly well-deserved ‘Best Actress’ Academy Award for her stunning performance in the film Judy.

Depicting the Hollywood icon Judy Garland as she performed in her London show “The Talk of The Town”, Judy offers a nostalgic, bittersweet glimpse into the final days of the star. Whilst the task of portraying Garland is no mean feat; Zellweger rises to the challenge with aplomb, delivering an intimate and noble study of the talented yet troubled performer.

DMS has supported Pathé in the promotion of Judy from concept to its Home Ent release over the past few years and we are therefore delighted to see the film receiving so many accolades.

Our journey with Judy started back in November 2017, when our Creative team created a mood reel to aid the B2B promotion for the film’s concept, using archive footage of Judy Garland.

A year later, DMS completed the feature file mastery for Judy, updating, encoding and quality control checking the files to be supplied to multiple territories. In the lead up to the film’s release in October 2019, DMS localised, processed and launched trailers, film clips, TV spots, featurettes and more on PANTHER ONLINE® which were also delivered globally to over 15 territories.

Ffion Jones, Technical Creative Services Manager and lead coordinator of the Judy project at DMS said, “Working with Pathé on Judy for the last 18 months has been a fantastic journey and a huge privilege. Helping Pathé to remind the world of Judy Garlands awe inspiring talent, as well as sharing Renee’s stunning performance globally, has been one of our biggest undertakings here at DMS and a beautiful film to be a part of.”

DMS warmly congratulates Renée Zellweger and the entire Pathé team on their recognition from the Academy last night.
